Penscombe is believed to be a Medieval settlement first recorded in 1327 and much later the barns would have been built. Today, Penscombe Barns is a development of seven luxury 2, 4 and 5-bedroom barn conversions in the beautiful Cornish countryside. They are available for sale now and ready to move in to from Summer 2022. All the barns are being renovated to high standard with oak-panelled doors, energy efficient double glazing, underfloor heating to the ground floors, quality fittings throughout and double garages.
The renovation of Barn 5 incorporates a large 15ft waterwheel that has survived on the on the site of Penscombe together with a wheel pit, which is believed to have replaced an earlier horse whim as a power source. The water wheel dates from early c1900 and would have been used to power farm machinery.
